Listen to This Twin-Turbo Shelby GT350R Go 202 MPH in the Half-Mile

With 1600 horses under the hood, this highly modified Shelby has no trouble breaking the 200-mph barrier.

What's better than a Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R? A Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R with two turbos attached.

Built by Fathouse Performance, a shop that specializes in making Shelby-branded Mustangs wildly quick in a straight line, this GT350R has been given the shop's custom twin-turbo system and now runs on a MoTeC M190 ECU. It gets an astonishing 1600 horsepower to the rear wheels via a PPG sequential transmission, all while still having a full interior with things like air conditioning and a radio.

The team at Fathouse took the car to a recent Shift S3ctor half-mile runway event in Marion, Indiana to see just how fast it could go. Driver Jeremy Howell managed to top the turbo'd Shelby out at 202.16 mph before crossing the finish line. Insane.

The best part about this video isn't the speed, though. It's the sound. Even with two turbos attached, the 5.2-liter Voodoo V-8 under the hood can still rev well past 8000 rpm, allowing for some truly magnificent noises to come from the exhaust. Please, turn the volume up when you press play on the above video. You won't regret it.
